Hookah

i was reading a book the other day and they made a comparison of them blowing smoke rings to kids blowing bubbles, and it sounded like something similar to my concentration, so i took some pictures of my friends from art class smoking hookah and such
not at all what i saw the picture as in my head, but some turned out ok i think

now i'll have to try to tie them back into the bubbles

Deception

for an english project we had to do the biggest confliction in our life and what the outcome was, and i haven't really had too many things like that in my life, besides small self conflicts, so i wanted to do this one idea that dealt with me kind of deciding where to go with my life, but for the idea i needed a canoe, and i couldn't come about one, so i went and looked through my photo journal that i started at the beginning of this year, and i saw a picture idea i came up with when i was kind of going through some depression. I had this one friend that was in college, and when she came home she always had lots of stories to tell me, which i loved hearing because obviously they were fun, but after she told me hours of fairly pointless stories, she never asked me or my other friend how we had been, like not the slightest interest, she only hung out with us so she could talk about herself and it really bothered me. It seemed like she was there and a good friend, but in the end it was just a kind of deception to me, she was only there as a friend when she wanted us there for her, but it was never a two way street.

Any who so this is the final idea, also the project was biggest confliction, but i can't remember what it actually was so until i remember i'm just going to say that

My portfolio is due in a couple months, and I'm pretty stressed about it, but the way i deal with stress is by pushing it to the back of my mind and doing nothing about it, which in the end screws me over. I feel like time is just kind of slipping by me and I can't get myself to do much about it. Took some cliche sand pictures to describe how i feel

unfortunately my flash trigger has been broken for about a month, and so for this i had lights but they wouldn't flash, not exactly creating the look i wanted, but it was enough. especially considering these aren't for anything. But i just drove to Calumet photography today to buy a new one, and thinking it would be under $100... but it was $236, too bad I'm already broke. kill me.

me and my friend dalton won "most artistic"
I don't think i deserved it, this girl Kelsey Graef, is amazingly talented and artistic and she deffinatly should have won. But in any case the Senior Bests are stupid, and i won instead.
So here is our picture for the year book
it was really fun to shoot except for the fact it was freezing outside and we didn't plan it out very well
we brought no change of clothes or towels, or anything like that
we went to this abandon house and kicked down the door. I used my d90 with a ringflash, but I'm still figuring the flash out and so i didn't use the actual flash, but it did light up the dark house nicely.

the first is just an after shot, and the second is the one that will go in the yearbook,
i wish daltons other hand was in it, but seeing as i wasn't really behind the camera i couldn't fix it.

Mason Jars

One more day of finals tomorrow! spent the last 5 hours studying for anatomy, then me and my friend took a break to go take some pictures. I have a ton of mason jars, and so i've been wanting to put candles in them for a while and take some night pictures

after scattering them in the snow it looked like someone should be sitting in them so i popped a squat, besides a little color changing these are as is

hmm ok well still have taken no pictures, but after i write this paper I'm about to start, I'm going to try to take a few. I need to charge my camera, and since I am so used to trying to shelter it, it's not like I just bring it around everywhere with me, any who my friend got a tattoo today, she's 16 and we snuck her in with a nice fake and she got a cute little peace sign on her hip that fades from black to green. I got a tattoo just on new years eve, also using a fake, pretty exciting
it says smile on my shutter finger, I stole the idea, but I like it a lot

some pictures i did for a shoot a couple weeks ago, i totally forgot about this, but i WILLLL keep it up, i want it to be like a little journal. I am really sick right now, so no way I am going to be able to go take any pictures so thought I'd upload these.
